Has the World gone FULL GOOSE BOZO!

17 July 16
07:25 hrs.

At this time one week ago a mother and her daughter in Calgary were still alive. But their life clock was already winding down and they didn't know it. Now the details of their demise, that are know to the public, are still sketchy. What is known is the mother failed to report to work on Monday and on Monday evening the police entered her residence and discovered her remains. Her car was found in another location. Now cctv footage captured a grey sedan in the area of her vehicle.  That same grey sedan was again captured on cctv at a DQ where a male suspect was seen with the daughter. That was Monday at 11:00 hrs or so which was hours before the mother's body was discovered. But, the daughter is still missing and a nationwide Amber alert is issued. Two days later the male suspect is arrested and held but he's not saying anything. It is discovered that he is known to the mother, the daughter and the the estranged father. He is also well known to the police. Another day and the police services begin searching an area east of Calgary where the daughter's body is found. The suspect is charged with two counts of murder in the first degree.

This where something twigs my interest.

At his arraignment, the judge has ordered no bail AND he is to have no contact with the father! This tells me that there is more to this than meets the eye. It has been stated that they knew each other. Were they friends? Business partners? Associates or members of a club or some other group? Had they previously participated in some criminal activity together? Whatever the connection is the judge does not want them talking to each other? Why? Something is rotten in Denmark and it's not the ludefiske!

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the father may have something to do with this. Precisely what I don't know. But the investigation is far from over. For one thing the authorities have not figured out the motive.

Then, there were the police being targeted and killed South of the 49th. Someone had posted the following question...
America has the Right to Bear Arms.
And. ..e
Canada has the Right to Bare Breasts.
Where would you rather live?

     Hmmmm,  I choose BREASTS!

On that note, more police were shot and killed today. The 2nd Ammendment strikes again. In Baton Rouge three officers were killed and three more injured. The shooter was shot and killed. Turns out that he was an ex - US Marine who had served in Iraq. I don't think it has much to do with the police killing in Baton Rouge two weeks ago as it may be PTSD. The American military was in the middle east and Afghanistan longer than Canada and many of those troops did two or more tours of duty in active war zones. I don't think they have even begun to deal with all the messed up minds.

Locally,  there is a reconstruction project to protect the road along the shoreline at Point Holmes. When my Senior Couch Monkey was working towards his Chief Scout Award he reported to BC Hydro that several hydro poles along this road were about to collapse due to erosion. And, because he was a child he was ignored. The next step involved taking photos of the poles and sending them to BC Hydro. A couple of weeks later the poles were supported with extra guy wires. It would seem that the erosion has progressed to the point that the shore line must be protected with large rip rap boulders to break up force of the surf.

There is a move to raise taxes for all residents of The Valley to cover the cost of parking at the hospitals. I don't know how much it would be per person but the amount would vary depending on where you live. Already residents in the Wild Wild West and the Outer Areas are stating that they will not put up with extra taxes levied apon them. The alternative is to have pay as you go parking and this is not always the best thing either. I can see the parking lot at Home Depot, the Aquatic Centre and the surrounding neighbourhood streets.

Tomorrow will be the start of the Republican National Congress in Cleveland Ohio where there is an open carry law. Meaning, you can openly carry any kind of firearm that you legally own. Hand gun, long gun, shotgun, or machine gun. It doesn't matter what it is. Do you think the police are nervous? Once again, I thank God that I live in Canada.

     Breaking News

Some disgruntled wing nut killed more than a dozen people and wounded even more in a knife attack in Japan. Yesterday,  some other gooney goo goo blew himself up in Germany killing and maiming the innocent. That attack had followed another nut bar refugee in Germany who attacked people on a subway train.

The world seems to be going to the dogs.

Do yourself a big favour. Call your parents. Tell them that you love them. Hug you kids before bed and tell them that you love them too.

     Goodnight.

One of the Rules

08 Jul 16
06:10 hrs

About a week ago we, my Lobster and I plus the senior Loin Fruit, we're invited for a meal at Elric the Stalwart's residence.  Actually, I think our eldest son tagged along just for the change of venue and the promise of free vittles. Elric's Lobster was cooking pig parts on their flame pit and there were all of the requisite sides as well. All of this is is just preamble anyways.

When one attends a function at a friend's house you might bring a side dish, which we did, or a bottle of wine that is either paired to the meal or as a gift and there fore it doesn't have to be. Elric and I are enjoying the vast multitude of craft beers so I brought one of those. My Better Half does not like beer or wine all that much but she does enjoy vodka mudshakes so she brought some.

Now, the Crew Rule states that any alcohol that you bring to a function belongs to the host. Regardless, if you bring a half sack, a dozen or a case (a two-four) whatever you don't drink you leave. To take it back home with you makes you look like a Class A schmuck. I had hosted a BBQ for an old friend and his associates. I didn't know how many were coming and I only had so much and I wasn't about to enable those booze hounds so I simply said that it was BYOB. Sure, some brought half sacks and one brought a dozen. They certainly didn't drink it all as my cooler was more full at the end of the evening than before the party started.

So there we were...attending to Elric the Stalwart's residence. Drinkables were brought and left, as is the norm but then I get a phone call from the hosts..."You left some bottles here. We'll drop them off". That would never happen if the left them at my place. They we would be consumed or saved for the next function at the Wayward Inn.

And, by the way, if some one gifts you a wine either drink it with them or shortly there after. Taking their bottle back over to their house is bad form too.

The Fun of Summer

07 Jul 16
01:20 hrs

It's early in the morn. Take note of the time Dear Readers. Once again, I'm on the grave yard shift. Not much to do except try to not sleep on duty, a bad thing, and trying to get some sleep during the day at the Wayward Inn,  next to impossible, and as a result I am running a bit of a sleep debt, not good.

Here in the Valley, this is the Musicfest weekend. Back in the Olden Dayz it used to be called the Renaissance Fair. A three day weekend of latent hippy culture in all its glory. All the weirdos from the outer realms would descend to the Valley to pitch their wares like travelling peddlars on the road to the big city. Incences,  earrings, macrame, foods, music, smoke. At night things usually got well out of hand to the point the Queen's Cowboys would not enter the fair ground preferring to collect the bodies pitched or crawling out for assistance. It was so radical I once but a t-shirt that professed the need to "Nuke the Unwed Mother Whales for JESUS". Kinda covered everybody at once. The new festival, Vancouver Island  Musicfest, can be found on Facebook. Just Google it.

Now, my Better Half had suggested that, instead of driving back and forth to home, we should take the Mobile Wayward Inn down to the festival. As a volunteer she would get a spot. Sure! So, yesterday we take the unit down and after a two hour wait we idled into the field where we discover that the field is as tightly packed as a BC Ferry on a long weekend sailing. Pure insanity. There is about 18 inches of clearance between us and the units on either side of us.

My Lobster noted that we will have to bring down some munchies.  There is so much free BC herb smoke floating in the air that we don't want to get caught without something to chew on. Somethings never change.
