A Contact from the Past

     The Wayward Inn hosted an old friend last night. The Handyman has been working on a project up at the northern end of the Island and had to return to civilization to acquire some odds and sods. I haven't seen him since the family had moved to that militaristic Black Hole in southern Ontari-ari-o.

    

     To celebrate his visitation Chef Blaine massaged four fantastic racks of pork ribs with a side of roasted potato salad and a serving of cruciferous vegetables,  which was promptly ignored by Loin Fruit #1. All the more for the rest of us.

    

     This just in.
    

     Abe Vigoda,  the actor who played Sgt. Fish on the sitcom  Barney Miller,  has passed at the age of 90+ years. I hate to say it but I had thought he had left us years ago. I guess not. If you have never seen the show try looking for it on Netflix or on YouTube.  Dejavu might have it. It was pretty damn funny and Abe Vigoda's character was a big part of it.

     Chef Blaine is all pressed, dressed and ready to pick up his Lobster at YQQ. She's been gone to our Nation's Capital to deal with the untimely passing of her dad. She was very strong through the whole ordeal and should be commended for it. When asked what she wanted for supper she replied "Our home made pizzas with extra onions." Can't fault her for that. Our mutual love of the vegetable was one of the key questions asked before I first met her 21 years ago today. The other two were "Did I have my own teeth?" and "Did I have a criminal record?"

    

     Well, I was never convicted.
