It's Blog Time

I've been working on the Jobsite for the past while. It's pretty much a hum drum job monitoring workers and maintaining security on site. Occasionally fence lines have to be opened for machinery access but not without a security person in place for obvious reasons. Today, I had to allow dump trucks in through the fence line while safely directing traffic. One individual slowed as he went to thank me and said I was a natural at marshalling the vehicles. I should be. I marshalled aircraft on a military apron for twenty years.

My Better Half and I, with help from the Couch Monkeys, re-arranged the bonus room in the Wayward Inn so the walls could painted. My Lobster selected Heavy Cream for the colour which is far brighter than the Contractot's Sandbox that adorned walls. Today the switch plate covers and the furniture will be put back into place to make the room useable again. This has also given us the opportunity to toss out crap that is no longer wanted or needed. Decluttering as it were.

All of this work would have to be done sooner or later and now that it has been completed the room is now ready to receive a more permanent occupant. In the event that the Oma-nator moves from the Nation's Capital to the Wayward Inn on the Left Coast she would take over the Sr. Loin Fruit's room as it is on the main floor and has the cheater ensuite. We don't want to move him into the other two available living spaces so by reconfiguring the bonus room it now closely resembles a loft apartment. We know that the Oma-nator is planning to visit late in the fall but it is uncertain that if the move will be permanent.

Chef Blaine has acquired a new tool for food preparation. A new dual fuel smoker. He has an older electric model but it takes too much time to even make beef jerky and with his desire to try making smoked brisket, hams and even a whole smoked turkey it was necessary to purchase a more dependable unit with a larger capacity.
