Just a quick note.
Last night Elric the Stalwart and I took our charges to the Comox Valley Ribfest. Although there was no entrance fee and only a twoonie to park the Ram in a muddy field the cost for edibles was pretty steep. More than a restaurant steep. Especially when you consider that in a restaurant you would be getting the side dishes with the meal and not ala carte.
The ribs were amazing. Tender. Juicy. Full flavour. The only side dish I had was the Maple Bacon Cornbread. Not enough corn meal and a bit too sweet. Still tasty though.
We wandered the grounds. Looking at the vendors. I was looking for a sparkly for my Lobster but there was nothing to be had. Who goes to a ribfest to buy a piece of pottery? Or a folding shipping basket? The only thing that made sense was the blade smith but his product was all constructed by stock removal and he was charging forged metal prices! Hell, some of his pieces should have been out of Damascus steel for what he was charging.

Supper at the Wayward Inn consisted of pork tenderloin on the Flame Pit, corn on the cob and a side salad. Excellent. Rumour has it that our #1 Son is coming home from college on Thursday and on Thanksgiving. As I am working over the holiday the mobile Wayward Inn will be staying put. Which is unfortunate as we rather like going up Island in the fall. There's no one around but the rain drops.
