Today is the penultimate day that my Senior Couch Monkey will be at home. Tomorrow the fledgling will leave the nest for VIU. Now, 8 months ago, 5 months ago and even 3 months I was literally counting the days until he was gone. But in the last month the worm has certainly turned for the better. Not completely, but enough that I will no longer be concerned about his ability to cope with being out in the world. My Lobster and I are so proud of him. We know that he will do great in his studies too. It's now his circus and he will have sort it out because he's now the Ringmaster.
The Sages are off to The Nation's Breadbasket as another of the Clan is getting hitched. It's the daughter of the youngest of the Original Eight. Li'l Sis will be heading there as well. Next weekend the focus will be at the Sage's place where a long time friend is also getting married. Li'l Sis will be attending that knot tying as well. Unfortunately we will not be attending either. The one in the Breadbasket is too far and the one at the Sage's is just bad timing.
For some of you this sounds like a code but if you have read any of my blogs you will know that I try my best not to use names or locations to provide some sense of anonymity. If you don't like it, tough shit.

Well, he's all packed. Soon his kit will be loaded into the RAM for a short journey south to Hub City. If there is anything that he missed or forgot there will be on chase to bring it down next week when I pass through the area. Other than that, everything else is now on his plate. He will have to manage his funds and his circus. Hopefully, the Four Rules will assist him.
1) Daddy does not take crap from kids. (Stand up for yourself.)
2) Whiners get nothing. (Nothing is free. Work for what you want.)
3) One man. One kit. (You are responsible for your own belongings.)
4) Learn how to care for yourself before you help others. (Be one of the rescuers not one of the rescued.)
Of these rules #3 applies the most. But you know something, he is pretty damn responsible for his things.
A bit too trusting and certainly not hardened from any kind of living outside the family womb but that will come in time. What was that Facebook meme (Holy Crap I think I just figured out what a meme was) where in 1944 eighteen year old men faced death on the beaches of Normandy and in 2016 eighteen year old men don't leave the house because they can't face the harsh words people use. It's true though isn't it? Everyone today is lives in an overly protective bubble where you can't speak your mind for fear of offending. Well suck it up Buttercup. Real life is about to run over you.
