There are only two of us up right now.
I've been up for almost an hour.
I've always been an early riser. I really enjoy the calm of the morning and if I could pull it off I would slip out of the house before dawn to catch the sunrise every morning. I think that a sunrise is better than a sunset. A sunrise is a fresh start, the birth of a new day where as a sunset is the end, the death of the day.
And by the time the sun drops below the horizon if you haven't learned anything, haven't shared anything, haven't loved anybody then you have wasted that day. You can never get it back. How many times have you said to yourself, "Shit! I forgot to do .....Oh well, I'll do it tomorrow." That may be all well and good when it comes to mowing the lawn but done one of those three points, and there may be others that are important to you, then its a wasted day.
Go ahead and forget to call your mom or dad or your kids only to hear that after several weeks of not talking to them that they have been hospitalized. OR WORSE. You cannot go back in time to connect with the one's you love.
Carpe Diem !
My #1 Son is up too. Despite being a middling teenager he is an early riser too. And he likes to stay up late as well. Eventually he will burn out. Its the whole candle at burning at both ends thing that he may not quite understand.
Although I have to go to work sometime today (I can run a flexible shift whereby I can adjust the start and end times to achieve certain goals), the Better Half wanted to go out to The Drum to pick up a few information pamphlets for our Japanese student. We have been hosting a student from Japan for a number of years now. It's kinda neat to learn a little bit more from someone from another part of the planet.
Found a great picture that sort of applies to my current job. I still have to check on the legalities of it. But, as a private citizen I have not qualms at all. I've done it once and I'll do it again if I have to.
