We're back....

11:20 hrs

Yes, we are back.
After such a successful weekend camping in Duncan, with a side trip to the big City of Victoria we, my better half and life partner, decided to drag the family out to the wilderness. Of course the problem was our oldest. The conversation went something like this.

" So #1 Son, we are planning on going camping.  Would you like to bring your friend Ivan? You guys can camp in a tent while we are in the trailer."

"I'll ask him." After school it was, "Ivan says he doesn't like camping and I would rather not go, so can I stay his place for the weekend?"

"We'll think about it #1 Son." And, we left it at that.

Several days later we had a surprise text from Ivan's mom. "Just heard that you asked if Ivan would like to go camping. As Ivan's mom, I would love for him to go camping!"

Well, this was interesting to say the least. And later that night..." Guess what # 1 son? Ivan's mom says that he would love to come camping with us." To which, he replied "FINE!"

GOTCHA!

We went to the Elk Falls Provincial campground. Nice place. Most BC provincial campgrounds are. This one is right outside Campbell River, by ten minutes, and yet you wouldn't know it.  However, the park staff had better get a grip on the unleashed dogs running loose in their jurisdiction.

The weather was great except for early this morning when BC's liquid sunshine began falling on great a amount. Shortly there after #1 son and Ivan were parked under the awning. It was 06:30. Thanks for letting us sleep in. The only thing to do was get up, have breakfast and start the pack up process. Everything was great until I broke the frickin awning strap. I have no idea how I'll fix it.
If you do, drop me a line.

I think my buddy Bob is back from Mexico. We share our birthday with him being 15 years my senior. He sent me a text saying there was a Survivorman special on TV. Les Stroud was out searching for squatches on Montana, at least it looked like Montana, with Todd Standing. Bob has always kidded me about my interest in sasquatches.

WHooooooop!
