So, Who is Really IN CHARGE?

07:30 hrs

Ssshhhh! I'm still in bed. Rarely do I sleep in and even more rarely do I lay in bed after I wake up. I am sandwiched between my BETTER HALF and the Great Orange One. As I am in the middle, I am clearly not in charge as I would have not disturb someone's slumber to escape. That brings up a question. Are there unwritten rules for occupying a bed? Do you always sleep on the same side? If you bed is against a wall who gets in first? And, who is responsible for turning out the lights?

I know I had said that after the Italian students had left that did not want any visitors at the WAYWARD INN and if there were any I was prepared to head off for my own vacation. Well, the bed sheets had barely cooled from the dryer when my long time friend from Over the Hump asked to stay at the INN. A dumb question as he knows that he is always welcome. He arrived with his BETTER HALF. She and I are both strong minded and highly opinionated individuals. A person who once witnessed the two of us contesting a position has likened it to watching two cats, hung by their tails over a clothes line, fighting for superiority. I would have to say that after all these years of knowing each other, we both respect the other as a worthy opponent.  B.Z. Jewels.

We are off and running. My LOBSTER and I have had the winter tires installed on her car, window shopped at Rattan Plus in town and picked up yummies for dessert.  We're on our way to pick up Loin Fruit #2 from karate. Then we'll hit a Big Box Store before driving out to the Wild Wild West for a birthday brunch/lupper for Loin Fruit #1, who turns 16 this coming Wednesday. Trust me when I say that I was not in charge in the development of these plans. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

At home. We've been across The Valley and back. Had our lupper out at Mars on Main. I had the West Coast Benny.  Smoked salmon on top of a salmon pattie and the best ever hollandaise sauce. Very impressed I was. Loin Fruit #2 had the same but said he found the salmon a bit salty. Well, he doesn't eat enough of it so he has nothing to compare it to. Ivan and his mom joined us. They've lived in The Valley for a year and haven't seen jack. The Wild Wild West was something new as were the Royston Wrecks. We lead them around and that placed us in charge.
