And the Beat Goes On....

Despite all the negativity that's out there sometimes you have to shut your trap and carry on because if you respond you will be sucked down into the pit of despair. That's why I try, at all costs, to avoid these individuals like the plague itself.

On a good note, yesterday was the birthday of Rush's lead guitarist Alex Lifeson. Born 27 August 1953 in Fernie, BC Alex would, in 1968, be a co-founder of the band that would later become Rush. I have had the pleasure of seeing the band in concert twice. Once with a friend of mine and once with my entire family. That's right my BETTER HALF, both Loin Fruits and myself crossed over the Strait and took in the Clockwork Angels concert in Vancouver's GM Place. It was the boys first rock concert so we had to go big. To say that they were impressed would be an understatement.

As of yet, I don't know where all the earth from the site of the new hospital is being carted to but there is an awful lot of it. The tandem dump trucks are running seven days a week. Now if you can imagine what that area of Lerwick/Veteran's Memorial Drive (VMD) is going to be like once the construction kicks in to high gear and then add in the traffic heading to nearby Queneesh Elementary. Plus the normal traffic to Home Depot and to Timmies as well. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

With the COUCH MONKEYS still not in school the boredom is becoming a fixation. At least karate has started but again for #2 Son. The First Born has yet to make a move to involving himself in any extra curricular activities.

A friend came over after work for some discussion and a pair of craft beer.
He brought along a copy of my book gor me to autograph. I was tickled pink.  I hope that he's going to read it.

This blog was supposed to posted yesterday but last night I was called out for work. A pair if loose pups, dogs really, that almost got clipped by a car were picked up by a kind lady.  I then had to take possession of them and run them to the doggy hoosegow. I finally got home at midnight and after watching Wicked Tuna I fell asleep on the couch.

We are finally getting some cooler weather here in the Valley with rain falling across the face of the Beaufort mountains. Its about time and thankfully haven't had a lot of forest fires on the Island.

      I really love living here.
