     Its here. Finally, its here. The rain is finally here. Even though the Valley gets more than enough rain in the winter months it is during the summer months when we really need it the most.

     I know that I have mentioned it before but it is critical the we hsve at least two days in a fortnight that is comprised of a steady drizzling rain. It keeps the forest damp and trickles down to keep the creeks and rivers cool for salmon migration. Sometimes, when the weather is incredibly hot and without any relief the salmon will simply sit off shore waiting for the water temp to change. During that time they continue to use up their resources to the point that when the rain does come they may not have enough energy left to spawn.

      Those who enjoy camping, yours truly included, also want some of this wet stuff. If we don't get some rain the campfire ban will continue and the forestry department may close the campsites completely because the forest fire hazard is just too great.

     So, as you can see, the rain is a welcome relief for many of the residents of the Valley. 

     Parents don't like it too much though. Its been tough enough trying to get the Couch Monkeys outside and now that some liquid sunshine finally is gracing us with its presence. The odds of having our two resident Loin Fruits along with the Actor and Ivan leave the WAYWARD INN is slim to none as it is a known fact that all males under the age of 18 will succumb to physical transmorgification if they are subjected to falling water.

     In other words, they are afraid that they will melt!

     Tomorrow night is the Crash to Pass Boat Race at Saratoga Speedway. An incredible sight to see. Old V8 junked cars with a boat towed behind them on a soaked track. Smash the boat in front youvare you get to pass. Last man, at the end of 15 laps, with a piece of boat behind his car wins. Hope to see you there.
