So last night I had to go to a meeting but before that I had to scope out the location of a Cast Party our latest House Guest would be attending. He's a young actor with lots of promise but he is very much a footloose and fancy free kinda guy.
I get to the subject property, so I know where to pick him up when the party is over, and I go to turn around to head to my meeting. Suddenly, one wheel is not turn in as it should. I'm jackknifed across the road and threatening to go into the ditch at every turn. I eventually get the truck lined up with the road and make the required calls. First the Better Half, then the meeting coordinator and finally CAA. A half hour later the guy from Georgia Strait Towing shows up, secures my wounded truck and, with me riding shotgun, deposits us at Canadian Tire. Twenty minutes after that my Best Beloved arrived to spirit me home.
All I can say is thank God that this didn't happen when I was moving at a high rate of speed or OUT IN THE WEEDS. I would have been really screwed if either if those scenarios had played out.
Now the only hurt left to endure is the bill and it will take two pay periods to pay off. The only good news for the day is my Createspace account. A quick check shows that I have sold twenty copies of my book online. I only have to wait for that bloody ITIN number from the IRS and then I will be able to collect just over $200 USD.
Tonight is the Sayanora Party. Our Japanese students leave tomorrow for Vancouver where they will watch a Vancouver Giants baseball game, through which most of them will sleep, and then on Saturday they board a Air Nippon flight back to Japan. It's been a slice guys and you will be missed.
